We are working with a highly dynamic, fast-moving consumer business based in West London that is seeking a Corporate Associate (5–7 years’ PQE) who is looking to make the move in-house as a Legal Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer trained in private practice to transition into a broad, commercial in-house role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and business decision-making. The role offers extremely varied work and will suit someone keen to broaden their remit beyond pure transactional work.

The Role: Working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams, the Legal Counsel will provide commercially focused legal support across a wide range of matters, including: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, marketing and technology contracts. Advising on UK consumer law issues relevant to the business, including customer-facing terms and promotions. Supporting data protection and privacy matters (GDPR) in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Managing and instructing external legal advisers efficiently. Contributing to the development of internal legal processes, templates and best practice within a growing in-house legal function.
