Operating from 13 UK locations, the team provides advice and guidance on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fundraising, private equity, equity capital markets, due diligence, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, reorganisations and demergers, corporate structures and governance. About The Role The Bristol Corporate team is experiencing exciting growth and is led by Emily Settle, an experienced Partner listed as a Recommended Lawyer in The Legal 500 (2025 edition) and a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (2025 edition). Emily acts for founders in M&A and fundraising transactions and advises a large portfolio of international companies backed by private equity sponsors. We have an opportunity for an ambitious individual with at least 8+ PQE to join the team. Candidates with more experience are also encouraged to apply. You will be involved in all aspects of corporate work, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholders agreements, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and private equity. The team works seamlessly across offices, and we encourage early‑stage lawyers to network, develop client relationships and advance their careers with our support. Key Responsibilities
Maintain consistently high client service and care. Demonstrate competent financial management and commercial awareness, including accurate time recording, billing, achievement of firm‑delivered targets and management of WIP. Drive business development opportunities to retain existing clients and develop new client relationships. Maintain up‑to‑date technical expertise. Accountable for personal development and continuous improvement of interpersonal and soft skills. Operate in accordance with SRA competence standards. Carry out any other reasonable tasks required from time to time.
Your Skills And Qualifications
Directly relevant previous extensive experience and the correct level of post‑qualified experience (PQE) for the role. Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the industry and client business. Ability to run and manage own case load with minimal supervision. Proven track record of competent financial management, meeting client expectations and sound case‑management skills. Good IT skills and confidence using case‑management systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages. Self‑starting, friendly and excellent interpersonal skills. Consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.
