Broad Overview

The Corporate Strategy Associate will partner with the VP of Corporate Strategy in the development, evaluation, and execution of the global organization’s strategic agenda. The role combines market analysis, financial modelling, strategic planning, and cross‑functional collaboration to help leadership make informed decisions on growth, transformation, and long‑term value creation.


The role is both strategic and tactical, where nimble thinking, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to manoeuvre between shifting priorities are important skills for success in the role. The ideal candidate has the ability to build a strategy and is willing to get their hands dirty to pull it through.


Your responsibilities would include:

Strategic Planning and Analysis

  • Build structured analyses and implementation plans for critical parts of our global portfolio
  • Build financial models in Excel to evaluate strategic options, business cases, investments, and scenario planning.
  • Build presentations in PowerPoint to build the enterprise’s understanding of our strategy, spanning from functional teams to executive / board-level audiences.
  • Support the annual strategic planning cycle, including preparation of materials for executive and board-level discussions.
  • Assess the commercial and operational implications of strategic initiatives, identifying risks, dependencies, and value drivers.

Corporate Development Support

  • Support key growth levers, particularly LCM and M&A activities, by providing commercial expertise, execution support (including project management), and synergy modelling.
  • Track performance of acquired businesses and strategic investments.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work across key functions of the business (i.e., Commercial, Operations, Finance, Medical, etc.) to inform strategic thinking, build implementation plans, and support execution.
  • Support implementation of transformation programmes, serving as an accountability partner and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, problem solving sessions, and stakeholder interviews to shape strategic recommendations.

Executive Communication and Support

  • Develop clear, concise presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Translate complex analysis into actionable insights and strategic narratives.
  • Support leadership in preparing for investor meetings and town halls.

Portfolio Performance and Market Monitoring

  • Track portfolio key performance indicators, market movements, and competitor actions.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities that may impact the company’s long term direction.
  • Ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with SERB values.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the Line Manager.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

Essential

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience structuring ambiguous problems into frameworks.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in narrative building, PowerPoint, and presentation delivery.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or a similar analytical role.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Ability to synthesise complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for senior audiences.
  • Comfortable working with cross functional teams and influencing without authority.
  • High level of commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable pressure testing assumptions.
  • Structured thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
  • Collaborative, low ego, and effective in fast paced environments.
  • Resilient and adaptable when priorities shift.

Desirable

Experience in M&A, due diligence, or integration projects.

Experience in drug launch and commercialisation in Europe and/or the US.

Experience working with a portfolio of pharmaceutical products.

Exposure to transformation programmes or operating model design.

Sector knowledge relevant to the company’s industry / portfolio.
