Cost Manager / Senior Cost Manager - Major Programmes (Government) Turner & Townsend is actively looking for Cost / Senior Cost Managers to aid the delivery of new construction schemes related to central & local government, including the development of new prisons across the UK. Candidates will typically lead or support projects ranging from £10-£50m, with additional support for high‑profile projects in the region. Role Objectives

Pre‑ and post‑contract duties including cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, and final account. Completing feasibility studies. Estimating and cost planning including producing and presenting the final cost plan. Tendering and procurement activity, managing pre‑qualification, tender lists, preliminaries, analysis and reports. Responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting and valuations. Interface with clients and consultants at all project stages. Participate effectively in post‑contract cost variances and change control processes. Perform cost risk analysis and provide input to value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts. Contribute to the development of the wider team and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

Proven track record of delivering high‑quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle. Ideally professionally qualified (RICS or similar). Degree or HNC‑level qualification. Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.
