This is a rare chance to work alongside nationally appointed experts and develop your career in one of the most specialised areas of mental capacity law.This expanding Court of Protection team includes a Panel Deputy and an Accredited Legal Representative and is known for its commitment to protecting the rights and interests of vulnerable individuals.Due to increased caseload and continued growth, it is seeking a motivated and experienced solicitor to handle complex health and welfare matters under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.Whether you are seeking your next career step or are an experienced practitioner ready to lead, this position offers real potential for growth, including the opportunity to manage the team for the right senior-level candidate.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of health and welfare Court of Protection matters, including s.21A and s.16 applications.Attend clients, take instructions, prepare cases and conduct legal researchEnsure compliance with file management and regulatory requirementsDraft applications, statements and court documentation, and where appropriate, conduct advocacySupport the Head of Department and collaborate on strategic planning and service developmentEngage in business development and build professional relationships to drive growthWork empathetically with clients and their families, often in sensitive and challenging situationsMaintain accurate time recording and billing processesProactively implement feedback from file reviewsRequirements:Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a current, clean practising certificateProven experience in Court of Protection health and welfare casesSound understanding of Mental Capacity Act 2005 and related case lawPublic and/or privately funded case experience essentialAdvocacy experience is advantageous but not essentialExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage a varied and complex caseload with minimal supervisionStrong organisational, time management, and analytical skillsProfessional and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable individualsExperience or interest in business development and marketing is desirableWhy Apply?Join a nationally recognised team with real purpose and impactFlexible working arrangements and supportive environmentOpportunity to progress into a leadership role for the right candidateExposure to high-profile, complex Court of Protection workBe part of a firm that prioritises quality client service and legal excellenceApply now to take the next step in your Court of Protection career.
