Job Title: Cover Supervisor (Secondary)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in education or those seeking flexible work within a school setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise classes and deliver pre-planned work in the teacher's absence

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Ensure a focused and productive learning environment

Provide clear instructions and support to students as needed

Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Assist with general school duties where required

Person Specification

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Strong communication and organisational skills

Confidence managing groups of students
