Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach (Supply)
Start Date: Easter 2026 Location: Barnsley
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach to join a secondary school in Barnsley on a supply basis from Easter 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and sport, who enjoys working with young people and making a positive impact both in the classroom and through physical education.
The Role
This is a varied role combining classroom supervision and sports coaching responsibilities. Duties will include:
Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring a purposeful learning environment
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Supporting the delivery of PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities
Encouraging teamwork, participation, and positive attitudes to learning and sport
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience desirable)
Has a strong interest or background in sport or coaching
Is confident managing a classroom and engaging pupils
Is flexible, professional, and approachable
Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
