Job Description

Cover Supervisor - SEN Schools (East Kent)

Are you confident, adaptable, and looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to support a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across East Kent.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable experience in specialist education settings.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to provide continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. You'll be supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Complex SEN
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

You'll be responsible for managing classroom behaviour, delivering pre-set work, and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Confident and resilient individuals with strong communication skills
  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.) is desirable
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs

Why Work in SEN Schools?
Working within SEN is more than just a job-it's genuinely impactful and often incredibly fulfilling. Some of the key benefits include:

  • Smaller class sizes, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with pupils
  • A supportive team environment with experienced staff and ongoing guidance
  • The chance to see real progress, even in small but significant steps
  • Variety in your day-to-day role-no two days are ever the same
  • Valuable experience for those considering careers in teaching, psychology, therapy, or social work
  • A role where your presence can have a direct, positive impact on a child's life

If you're looking for a role where you can challenge yourself, build meaningful connections, and make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
