Cover Supervisor – Hull

Location: Hull Pay Rate: £99 – £125 per day Start Date: Immediate / ASAP Contract Type: Supply, Short-Term & Long-Term

GSL Education Hull is recruiting confident and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Hull. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-set work and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor: 

Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4

Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning materials

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Support students to remain on task and engaged

Respond to students’ questions and escalate issues where appropriate

Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures

Requirements as a Cover Supervisor:

Experience working with young people (education, youth work, or coaching preferred)

Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills

Ability to manage behaviour effectively

Desire to gain experience in secondary education

Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
