About the Role

Zest Education is looking for enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire region. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals with experience working with young people—whether through coaching, mentoring, or voluntary roles—who are interested in progressing towards a career in teaching.

We work with a range of welcoming and supportive schools in and around Shrewsbury, many of which have a consistent need for reliable Cover Supervisors. There are roles available immediately.

What You Will Do

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

* Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons across a variety of subjects

* Create a positive, focused learning environment for students

* Provide clear written feedback to the classroom teacher after each lesson

* Manage classroom behaviour effectively and uphold school expectations

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants who can demonstrate:

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* A genuine interest in supporting young people’s development

* Good levels of literacy and numeracy

* Confidence working across different subjects and age groups

* Experience in a classroom environment (desirable but not essential)

To be considered, you must have at least 20 days of experience working with children or young people within the last five years, or be a recent graduate.

We particularly welcome applicants from backgrounds such as:

* Recent university graduates

* Sports coaches

* Youth workers

* Dance/drama instructors

* Scouts or youth group leaders

These roles provide highly valuable transferable skills suited to classroom supervision.

Safeguarding

Salary is dependent on qualifications, experience, and training.
This is a temporary supply role.
