Hays are working exclusively with a dynamic and growing business who are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Credit controller to join their team in Telford
Your new role
In this position, you will take ownership of the company’s aged debt and play a key role in maintaining strong credit control processes. Your responsibilities will include: Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers while proactively following up on outstanding payments
Evaluating and analysing credit checks, setting appropriate credit limits, and managing stop lists
Accurately posting and allocating incoming cash to the correct accounts
Working closely with colleagues across multiple departments to resolve queries and support the wider finance function
Completing bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and up‑to‑date financial records
Supporting month‑end processes, contributing to smooth reporting and financial deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
The business is seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Controller who can confidently manage their own workload, make informed decisions, and follow through with effective implementation. You will be someone who takes ownership of the role and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.They are looking for an individual with strong communication skills, capable of building rapport and maintaining productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.You should also possess solid IT capabilities, including strong Excel skills, alongside a positive, solutions‑focused, “can‑do” attitude.
