About Trade Mastermind
Trade Mastermind is the UK’s No.1 business coaching platform for construction business owners and beyond. Founded by Joseph Valente, our mission is to empower trade professionals with the tools, structure, and confidence to scale profitable, sustainable businesses. As a fast‑growing, nationally recognised brand, we operate in a high‑performance, entrepreneurial environment focused on delivering real commercial results.
The Role
We are seeking a commercially minded and persuasive Credit Controller who enjoys building relationships, influencing outcomes, and taking full ownership of cash collection.
This role is ideal for someone with a sales‑style mindset — confident on the phone, comfortable negotiating payment, and able to balance firmness with professionalism. You will play a key role in protecting cash flow while maintaining strong, long‑term client relationships.
You will take ownership of the full credit control cycle, proactively chasing payments, negotiating payment plans where appropriate, and constructively challenging non‑payment. Using strong communication and rapport, you will build relationships with clients to secure payment commitments while maintaining customer retention.
You will monitor customer accounts, manage credit limits and terms, assess risk, and produce regular reports on debtor positions, aged debt, and cash‑flow exposure. You will also investigate and resolve invoice queries quickly, working closely with sales and internal teams to remove barriers to payment and improve overall payment performance.
Skills & Experience
You will have experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or a similar role, with strong persuasion and negotiation skills. You should be confident handling challenging conversations by phone, commercially minded, resilient, and results‑driven, with high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, performance‑focused environment.
While experience is important, we place far greater value on personality. Success in this role comes from confidence, influence, and the ability to build trust while firmly driving payment outcomes.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000, clear development and progression opportunities, and tailored training aligned with your career goals. You will work in a modern, high‑spec office with free on‑site parking, supported by a high‑performance, entrepreneurial culture within a nationally recognised brand.
Additional benefits include sponsored qualifications, a company pension scheme, and the opportunity to be part of a business reshaping the construction sector.
Please note: This is a fully office‑based role in Peterborough.
If you are a confident, persuasive professional who enjoys influencing outcomes and taking ownership of results, we would love to hear from you
