We are looking for a dedicated and highly organised Credit Controller to join our clients finance team in Accrington. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in credit control or finance to take on a varied and dynamic role within a growing company. You will be responsible for managing and reducing outstanding customer debt, maintaining healthy cash flow, and supporting the business in meeting its financial targets. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring all payments are received in line with agreed terms. Chase overdue payments by phone, email, and letter, ensuring a professional and courteous approach. Resolve any credit-related queries and disputes effectively. Perform credit checks on new and existing customers to assess risk levels. Process credit limit increases and decreases based on account performance. Work closely with internal departments to ensure customer accounts are up-to‑date and accurate. Provide regular reports on aged debt and other credit‑related information to management. Assist in improving the company’s credit control processes and procedures.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers. Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
