cer Financial are working alongside an international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Credit Risk Manager to work with them on a permanent basis.

The responsibilities of the Credit Risk Manager will include:

    • Assist the Head of Credit Risk in the underwriting of lending proposals.
    • Complete credit assessment reports and subsequent annual credit reviews.
    • Assist the Head of Credit Risk in overseeing and reviewing due diligence (including transaction documentation, collateral perfection, valuation and feasibility appraisals) to facilitate initial loan drawdown of Property Finance loans and Private Banking mortgages, escalating any material issues or variances to the Executive Committee.
    • Attendance at Executive Committee (Credit) meetings, as and when required.
    • Assist in the maintenance of and ensure accuracy of all FIs and Investments credit exposure limits in the Bank’s limit management system in accordance with approval authorities.
    • Liaising with the Heads of Operations and IT on the technical aspects of the credit systems and controls to ensure accuracy of facility limits and data reporting.
    • Monitor compliance of all Credit Policy, Risk Appetite, Stress Test and Concentration issues of credit risk for FIs and Investments exposures.
    • Through monitoring the Bank’s risk exposures against predefined risk appetite metrics and limits as well as ratings actions to identify any emerging risks in the FIs and Investments portfolios.
    • Review cycle of credits, monitoring of Credit Rating Agency reports and ratings, portfolio concentrations, portfolio specific and general market trends and escalating any issues of note to the Head of Credit Risk and Chief Risk Officer as appropriate.
    • Assist in the compilation of the Chief Risk Officer’s monthly/quarterly reports.
    • Oversee exception (breaches) reports and limit utilisation reports in respect of all credit exposures and ensure all exceptions are reported to the Executive Committee.
    • Assist the Head of Credit Risk in monitoring through-the-cycle loan performance.
    • Undertake regular reporting and monitoring of the Bank’s risk exposures.
    • Assist in the stress testing of the Bank’s credit exposures and liquidity.
    • Monitor early warning indicators and triggers for individual credit exposures to ensure action is taken in accordance with procedures detailed within the Management of Deteriorating Credit Exposures Framework within the Credit Risk Management Policy.
    • As and when required, monitor and report Early Warning Indicators on Market and Liquidity risk.
    • Assist in the management and workout of problematic property loan exposures and other credit exposures.
    • Assist the Head of Credit Risk to maintain and update Management information and other reporting on the Bank’s SPF, Private Banking, FIs and Investments exposures.
    • Assist the Risk team in maintaining, and undertaking regular reporting from, the Risk Appetite concentration dashboard.
    • Liaise with external parties, including credit ratings agencies, to ensure the Bank’s reporting systems remain appropriate and up to date.
    • Assist in the maintenance of the Bank’s Internal Credit Grading Models.
    • Ensure the Credit Procedures Manual is reviewed.

The successful Credit Risk Manager will have:

    • Strong credit skills with a focus on Property Finance and Financial Institutions including a sound understanding of counterparty financial analysis including Balance Sheet, P&L, cashflow and ratio evaluation and interpretation.
    • Good understanding of charged security requirements for property lending.
    • Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory framework, industry trends and best practice regarding the credit markets.
    • Understanding and knowledge of IFRS9 ECL and the BASEL regulations
    • Analytical and pragmatic approach to credit assessment and risk management whilst remaining impartial and objective.
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
