We are seeking a skilled and reliable Planned & Reactive Electrician to join a facilities maintenance team within a secure environment.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining planned preventative maintenance (PPM) with reactive repairs across a secure setting. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and continuous operation of electrical systems on site.

The Role

Duties will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment

*

Responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns

*

Maintenance of lighting systems (internal & external)

*

Emergency lighting systems

*

Fire alarm interfaces

*

Power distribution systems

*

Access control systems

*

Conducting electrical testing and inspection (EICRs)

*

Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and health & safety standards

*

Completing all required documentation and reporting accurately

*

Working safely at all times within a secure environment

✅ Requirements

*

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

*

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

*

City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) – desirable

*

Experience in planned and reactive maintenance

*

Strong fault-finding skills

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Good communication skills

*

Must be eligible for enhanced security clearance

Experience within high-security environments such as custodial, MOD, or healthcare settings is advantageous but not essential.
