About Jumbi

Jumbi is a music led bar and cultural space in Peckham known for its warm sound, community focus, and deep connection to diasporic music, food, and culture. We work with DJs, selectors, artists, labels, collectives, and creative partners across many scenes, creating a space rooted in spirit, storytelling, and shared experience. Our mission is to build a genuinely inclusive environment where people come together through music, culture, and community.

Role Overview

The Culture, Programme and Partnerships Manager is a senior role that sits at the centre of Jumbi’s creative and operational ecosystem. You will support the development of our programme, build cultural and brand partnerships, and ensure smooth communication between programming, marketing, and operations. You will also take responsibility for office organisation, internal coordination, and the day to day flow of information across the venue.

This role suits someone who moves confidently between creative and practical work, who understands culture deeply, and who can bring clarity, structure, and energy to a fast moving environment.

Cultural Development and Partnerships

• Build and manage relationships with cultural partners, labels, collectives, community groups, and creative organisations

• Support brand partnerships and collaborative projects that align with Jumbi’s identity

• Identify cultural opportunities across music, arts, food, and community spaces

• Represent Jumbi’s cultural voice when dealing with partners, collaborators, and stakeholders

• Maintain a grounded understanding of movements, scenes, and ideas shaping contemporary culture

Programme Support

• Assist in shaping the weekly programme across club nights, curated events, talks, and community led sessions

• Research artists, selectors, and collectives, and bring forward relevant suggestions

• Prepare programming materials including schedules, briefs, internal notes, and event overviews

• Communicate programming details clearly across marketing and operations

• Maintain an organised view of the programme calendar, planning cycles, and upcoming requirements

Internal Coordination

• Act as the link between programming, marketing, and operations so all teams receive accurate information at the right time

• Support weekly planning and cross team workflow meetings

• Track event details, updates, and outstanding tasks

• Maintain consistent internal communication and ensure clear handovers between departments

• Liaise with staff, suppliers, guest partners, and collaborators as needed

Office and Operational Management

• Oversee office administration and keep systems, documents, and calendars organised

• Support invoicing, contracting, and operational processes related to events and partnerships

• Maintain accurate internal records and update shared systems

• Assist with practical tasks that ensure the venue runs smoothly day to day

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills

• Experience working within music, culture, hospitality, or creative environments

• A strong cultural grounding in Caribbean and African diasporic traditions, with an instinctive feel for the music, stories, and community spirit that shape Jumbi’s identity

• Ability to build relationships with artists, partners, and internal teams

• Confident working with schedules, briefs, and multi step workflows

• Deep awareness of contemporary music, culture, and creative communities

• Strong written communication skills

• Ability to work evenings and weekends when required

• Comfortable working across both creative and operational tasks

Desirable

• Experience in partnerships, programming support, events, or cultural projects

• Familiarity with Peckham’s cultural landscape and London nightlife

• Experience coordinating teams or cross department processes

• Ability to contribute ideas to cultural and creative development

Why Join Jumbi

• Play a central role in shaping the cultural and creative life of a venue with a strong community identity

• Work closely with artists, collectives, and partners across a wide range of scenes

• Be part of a small, collaborative team where your work has a direct impact

• Help build a space rooted in spirit, culture, and shared experience
