Customs Clerk - Colnbrook, LHR - Up to £29,500An international freight forwarder is seeking a Customs Clerk to join their growing team based in Colnbrook, near Heathrow. This role supports customs operations by ensuring the timely clearance of goods and effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.Job Type: PermanentHours: Monday to Friday - 08:30 - 17:30Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on experience)Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Customs Manager in improving departmental efficiency and competitivenessAssist in implementing business development strategies for customs servicesAccurately complete ENS (Safety & Security) declarations, including all related financial, legal, and invoicing elementsEnsure all customs declarations are completed in full compliance with current regulationsComplete operational tasks within required timeframes and promptly report any amendmentsCarry out ad-hoc checks on customer entries and provide weekly reports to the line managerMaintain and effectively use internal operational systemsEnsure accurate processing of clearance instructions from third partiesFollow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal departmentsSupport compliance activities relating to customs proceduresContribute to improvements in workflow efficiency and customer processesEnsure all required reports are completed and submitted on timeComplete invoicing within 48 hours of activityProvide cover for colleagues during holidays and sickness as requiredRequirementsMinimum 2 years' UK experience in imports/exports and customs complianceStrong understanding of UK and EU customs requirements, particularly importsExperience within road transport, logistics, or haulage (desirable)Working knowledge of CDS (Customs Declaration Service) for imports and exportsUnderstanding of transit procedures and ETSF (desirable)Experience handling HMRC amendments and reclaimsProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExcellent organisational skills with strong attention to detailAbility to prioritise workload and meet deadlinesCapable of working both independently and as part of a teamFlexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekend workWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
