This role comes at an exciting time for the business. The data platform has already been built and is operating at scale, and the next phase is focused on driving greater value from the platform, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and developing the team.

As Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining a scalable data platform that powers analytics, reporting and insight across the business.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across product, commercial and finance teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions.

Alongside technical leadership, you’ll play an important role in coaching and developing engineers, helping raise the bar technically while supporting the growth of a relatively junior team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers responsible for the organisation’s data platform
  • Define and deliver a clear data and BI roadmap aligned to business priorities
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data solutions

  • Collaborate with analytics and insights teams to support advanced analytics and ML-driven data products
  • Drive best practices across data engineering, including testing, CI/CD and monitoring
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to ensure the team is building the right solutions in the right way

Your Background

You might already be managing a team, or be an experienced senior engineer ready to step into management.

Key experience includes:

  • Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms (Snowflake preferred)
  • Experience with modern ETL and orchestration tooling
  • Strong ownership mindset across code, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and production systems
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
  • A passion for data and applying engineering best practices
