On behalf of PwC, we are looking for a Data Migration Engineer (Oracle) for a 6 Month contract based in Rochester (Flexible).

The Role & Responsibilities:
The Data Migration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing data migration extract routines to support ERP data migration into Oracle Cloud. The role ensures data is extracted and transferred accurately, securely, and efficiently, maintaining data integrity and quality in accordance with defined business rules.
This role works closely with business stakeholders, data architects, DBAs, and project teams to deliver reliable, repeatable, and auditable data migration solutions.

Data Analysis & Assessment
Analyse source systems, data models, and data structures.
Profile source data to identify data quality issues, gaps, and anomalies.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data usage, dependencies, and criticality.
Migration Design & Development
Design the data migration approach for extracts and transfer procedures.
Develop ETL/ELT processes and scripts to support data migration activities.
Implement reconciliation, validation, and error-handling mechanisms.
Define data transformation rules and ensure traceability of changes.
Migration Execution
Execute data migrations across development, test, and production environments.
Coordinate with DBAs to ensure appropriate backups are in place to support extract routines.
Perform multiple iterative cycles including unit testing, mock runs, and cutover rehearsals.
Support go-live activities and post-migration stabilisation.
Data Quality & Validation
Execute data extracts, reconciliations, and completeness checks.
Investigate and resolve data defects and discrepancies.
Ensure migrated data meets defined business and functional requirements.
Documentation & Governance
Produce and maintain comprehensive migration documentation.
Maintain an audit trail of data transformations performed.
Ensure migration processes are controlled, repeatable, and compliant with internal governance standards.
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
Strong understanding of data cleansing and staging techniques.
Experience with ETL tools, data integrity strategies, and large-scale data migrations.
Knowledge of Oracle ERP 11i data structures and related tables.
Experience working within Oracle Cloud / Oracle Fusion environments.
Technical Skills:
Strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
Solid understanding of Oracle ERP (Financials, SCM, Projects) and Oracle Cloud Fusion database architecture.
Experience with joins, subqueries, analytic functions, and performance tuning of data extractions.
Knowledge of ETL methodologies and automation techniques.
Experience using PowerShell or other scripting/automation tools.
Experience working with Oracle Fusion ERP FBDI templates.
