Data Solution Architect – London (Hybrid) | Long-Term Contract | Inside IR35 Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Data Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high‑performing data platforms within the Azure ecosystem. This is a long‑term engagement working in a hybrid London setup, suited for someone who can combine hands‑on expertise with strategic architectural thinking. Key Responsibilities
Design end-to-end data architectures using Azure services such as Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models Support both analytical and operational data use cases Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ELT/ETL frameworks Define efficient data storage and processing strategies
Governance & Security
Implement data governance, cataloguing, and lineage using Microsoft Purview Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards
Stakeholder Collaboration
Translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution designs Work closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders
Performance & Cost Optimization
Monitor Azure environments and optimize for performance and cost efficiency Hands‑on experience with ADF and Databricks (pipelines, workflows, clusters)
SQL Expertise
Advanced SQL skills for performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
Required Skills & Experience
Proven background in data architecture and modelling Experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks Advanced SQL proficiency Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
