Finatal is partnered with an award-winning, privately held investment and operating group focused on acquiring and scaling high-quality UK businesses. The group has an established portfolio of companies delivering essential services across a range of industries and is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy through both organic expansion and acquisitions.

They are seeking a Deal Origination Manager to join the team and play a key role in generating acquisition opportunities. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys identifying opportunities, building relationships with business owners, and developing a strong pipeline of proprietary deals that align with the group’s investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive deal origination efforts, identifying and sourcing acquisition opportunities aligned with the group’s investment strategy.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to business owners, founders, and intermediaries, building relationships and generating proprietary deal flow.
  • Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of potential acquisition opportunities across priority sectors.
  • Qualify and assess opportunities from a commercial perspective before progressing them to the investment team.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition of opportunities from initial contact through to evaluation and execution.
  • Track and manage outreach activities, follow-ups, and pipeline reporting through internal CRM and processes.
  • Build and nurture relationships with advisors, brokers, and industry networks to support long-term deal sourcing efforts.

Candidate Profile

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • 3–7 years’ experience in one or more of the following: deal origination / buy-side sourcing, M&A, corporate finance, or high-quality B2B business development.
  • Experience speaking directly with business owners is highly desirable.
  • Highly proactive and self-directed, with a strong drive to generate opportunities.
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and handling rejection as part of a disciplined sourcing process.
  • Strong communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Organised and process-driven, able to manage outreach pipelines and follow-up activity effectively.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to identify viable acquisition opportunities.
  • Persistent and disciplined in follow-ups and relationship management.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing investment group with an entrepreneurial culture, play a key role in its acquisition strategy, and contribute directly to building a portfolio of high-quality UK businesses. This is also a rare opportunity to build a proprietary deal engine from the ground up within a growing investment platform, with direct exposure to the Founder and real influence over deal flow.
