Based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, the successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy General Manager based at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton to support the General Manager in leading operations, shaping strategic plans, and driving performance across Derbyshire Pathology. With the General Manager and the UHDB based Deputy General Manager the successful candidate will provide operational leadership and strategic direction to staff across Derbyshire Pathology. You'll work closely with the Clinical and Associate Clinical Directors, and will act as a key contact for the Chesterfield site. Excellent communication skills will be crucial, being able to lead and influence at all levels to effectively support both the day-to-day operational management and the strategic direction of our dedicated Derbyshire Pathology team. You will line manage members of the operational leadership team, and support those teams to ensure the delivery of safe and effective services being accountable for performance in those service areas against all key performance indicators and plans. Derbyshire Pathology is one of the largest NHS pathology networks, serving University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, and associated community services. An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day - 3rd largest in the country. Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily. Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres. We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres.
