We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Deputy Head of Production to play a key leadership role within our production team. This is a senior, hands‑on position for someone who combines strong editorial judgement with advanced technical expertise across filming, live production, and post‑production.Working closely with the Head of Production, you will help lead the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑quality video content from concept through to publication - including interviews, live events, and reactive news coverage. You will also support the day‑to‑day running of studio operations, oversee production workflows, and contribute to the strategic development of our video output.This role requires someone who thrives in a fast‑paced newsroom environment, can make confident decisions under pressure, and is comfortable balancing operational leadership with hands‑on delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Head of Production in overseeing all aspects of video production, ensuring consistent quality and output across the teamLead on the planning, shooting, and editing of interviews, features, and live broadcastsTake ownership of complex or high‑profile productions, including live events and multi‑camera shootsDeputise for the Head of Production when required, including team coordination and decision‑makingManage and optimise studio operations, ensuring all technical equipment and workflows are running efficientlyProvide technical leadership across camera, lighting, audio, and editing setupsEdit high‑quality video and audio content to tight deadlines, often reacting to breaking newsCollaborate with editorial teams to shape content, bringing strong story judgement and a clear news senseDrive best practice in video production, workflows, and output qualityMentor and support more junior team members, helping to develop skills and performanceEnsure content is optimised for digital platforms, including YouTube, with a strong understanding of packaging, SEO, and audience engagementContribute ideas for new formats, content innovation, and audience growthMaintain flexibility to respond to live events, including occasional out‑of‑hours and weekend workQualificationsSignificant professional experience in video production within a newsroom, media, or digital content environmentProven ability to lead productions end‑to‑end, including live and studio‑based outputAdvanced technical expertise across filming, lighting, audio, and post‑production workflowsExpert proficiency with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with vMix and DaVinci Resolve highly desirableStrong understanding of the YouTube ecosystem, including content performance, packaging, and optimisationDemonstrable editorial judgement and a strong news senseExperience managing or mentoring team members, with confident leadership and communication skillsAbility to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, reactive environmentStrong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesA proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with high attention to detailUnderstanding of digital content promotion and distribution strategiesWillingness to work flexible hours and travel when required #J-18808-Ljbffr
