*Job Summary*
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Deputy Headteacher to support the leadership and management of our Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. Working closely with the Headteacher, the successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
The role involves leading on high-quality teaching and learning tailored to a diverse range of needs, including complex learning difficulties, autism, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. The Deputy Headteacher will support staff development, promote effective safeguarding practices, and ensure that individual education plans are implemented to a high standard.

*Duties & Responsibilities*
* Undertake a teaching commitment of up to 50% of the timetable, fulfilling all responsibilities associated with a class teacher role, including planning, assessment, and delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching to meet a range of special educational needs. * Play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for all pupils. * Implement, uphold, and model exemplary adherence to all school policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements. * Actively contribute to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), attending all relevant meetings and supporting strategic decision-making and school improvement priorities. * Plan, lead, and chair meetings as required, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and effective outcomes. * Support and develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and promoting best practice in SEN teaching, behaviour support, and inclusion. * Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers, governors, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. * Promote a culture of high expectations, wellbeing, and continuous improvement across the school community.

*Qualifications & Training: *·
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) * A degree-level qualification or equivalent. * Further relevant professional and/or academic study and evidence of CPD.
