The Team

The Residential Services team looks after the University’s residential estate management. The current portfolio, accommodating around 3,200 students, includes seven Intercollegiate Halls of Residence, two of which are operated in partnership with the University Partnerships Programme (UPP). Our eighth hall, Bonham Carter & Warwickshire House, is currently closed for refurbishment and expected to re-open in 2027.

The Allocations team are responsible for managing the allocation process for our Halls. They work with 16 Federation Members who nominate their students as well as direct letting some rooms to students.

The Role

Deputy Housing Services Manager – Allocations. This role is for a fixed term to assist maternity cover and will run until October 2026.

You will assist the Allocations Manager in planning, developing and delivering a service that achieves maximum occupancy of accommodation.

You will deputise, in the absence of the Manager, to ensure continuity of service provision, delivered consistently by team members with high energy and a motivated and committed approach which encourages a culture of professionalism and the highest standards of customer service.

You will support and supervise the team’s Allocations Officers in their delivery of independently managed projects and areas of responsibility. You will assist in training, supervising and reviewing the work of new members of the team.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, most employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will need to attend the office on specific days for training or team meetings etc.
