Purpose of the Role To provide high-quality care, leadership, and support within a residential childrens home. The Deputy Manager plays a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position involves both operational and supervisory responsibilities and requires a flexible and proactive approach. Key Responsibilities Support the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety, health, and development of all children in the home.

Lead and support staff to deliver structured, therapeutic, and nurturing care tailored to each child.

Develop and maintain individual care plans and risk assessments, ensuring regular review and updates.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports in line with legislation and internal policies.

Participate in the on-call rota and provide shift cover, including sleep-ins, when required.

Create staff rotas and manage annual leave schedules.

Attend and contribute to childrens reviews, education and health meetings, and other multi-agency forums.
