LOCATION: Based on site at multiple locations across East Sussex and will require regular travel; roles will cover specific areas of provision across Bexhill, Eastbourne, Crowborough, and Seaford provision, including that for those with Multiple Compound Needs

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week – Mon - Thurs 8:30 17:00 & Fri 8:30 - 16:30
JOB OVERVIEW
We have two new job opportunities available in the organisations Safe Accommodation and Community Support Services provision for a Deputy Manager who has a proven track record working within the domestic abuse and/or safeguarding field, with a background in staff management and good working knowledge of housing, mental health, legal protections, safety planning and risk management.
Working as a Deputy Manager you will take a supporting role in the strategic development, co-ordination and delivery of the refuge and community support provision, during an exciting time of growth as the organisation increase their mainstream refuge provision from 37 to 55 beds and bring online their specialist safe accommodation and community provision for those with multiple compound needs.
As one of three Deputy Manager’s you will work alongside the operational Support Worker team, to lead continuous practice improvement and high-quality service delivery to ensure survivors are kept safe and enabled to recover from domestic abuse and feel empowered and able to move on independently. You will also implement quality assurance within the team and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the refuge buildings.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Deputy Manager will include:
• Line management of operational employees
• Support the development and promotion of high quality and best practice in service delivery
• Responsible for ensuring that the services are delivered in accordance with organisations standards and the requirements of any other commissioners with whom they work to ensure that they delivered, contribute to the reduction of risk of domestic violence and the re-empowerment of all survivors of domestic abuse
• Support the development and embedding of a high-quality performance culture in which professional standards are upheld, and survivors are enabled to recover from domestic abuse and feel empowered and able to move on independently, providing the necessary reports on performance to the Service Manager
• Ensure that risk is managed, providing a safe environment for all survivors and employees and the wider community
• Ensure the effective management of referrals and waiting lists and allocate cases as per contractual time scales
• Support operational decisions relating to resource deployment and risk management
• Work strategically with stakeholders to inform and influence local opportunities for organisations service users
• Coordinate and deliver training and briefings to maximise the effectiveness of the services provided
• Oversee compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures, to ensure the protection of children and vulnerable adults
• Ensure safe and compliant delivery by ensuring regulations, company policies and contractual requirements are understood and adhered to within a residential setting
• Create a learning environment in which employees can engage with continuous professional development activities
• Support the development of positive stakeholder relationships
• Assist the Service Manager in the delivery and implementation of any new or local policies/processes, guidance, instruction or initiatives
• Assist the Service Manager in the management of internal case and data recording systems, and quarterly reporting to the Commissioner
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Decision making skills and ability to work flexibly in a fast-moving environment
• Communication/negotiation skills
• Partnership working and managing stakeholder relationships
• Understanding of performance management
• Evaluating outcomes to improve practice
• Data analysis and report writing
• Good working knowledge of Domestic Abuse including with regards to housing, mental health, legal protections, safety planning and risk management
• Experience of supervising staff with line management experience
• Experience of multi-agency working
• Experience of delivering activities to develop the quality of practice, with individuals who have multiple compound needs
• Understanding of diversity, equalities and inclusive practice
• Experience of coaching and developing individuals and teams, to create an inclusive enabling environment
• Experience of managing risk and safeguarding
• Experience and knowledge of trauma informed approaches
• Experience in quality assurance
This role is subject to an enhanced check level 2 which includes an Enhanced DBS check. All required checks will be undertaken as part of the pre employment process for any successful candidate.
