Deputy Manager Residential Childrens Care
1 Days Old
Salary : Up to £38,500 per annum (plus sleeping-in allowances and benefits)
Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off
Are you looking for an exciting new role where you'll make a real difference in residential childrens care? Are you ready to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of young people within a specialist residential care setting?
As part of our ongoing growth plans, Adored Care's looking for a Deputy Manager to join our expanding residential care team and help lead our Morecambe-based children's home with excellence and empathy. (We're also on the lookout for a Team Leader, so if that's more your level, we'd love to chat).
As well as offering a competitive starting salary of up to £38,500, you'll get all the support you need from our Registered Manager to develop your career in a progressive, supportive residential environment.
About Adored Care
Adored Care's committed to turning around the lives of children with complex needs. We strive to create a residential care home that nurtures mental well-being and helps every child grow into a responsible adult.
Our leadership team, including our Outstanding-rated Responsible Individual, has decades of experience in the residential care and education sectors. We're committed to hiring the best people and offering genuine development opportunities. With a second home opening in the foreseeable future, its a really exciting time to join us as we grow our presence in the care sector.
About Our Home
We're proud of the EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) home we've created in the seaside town of Morecambe.
Our detached residential house on a quiet street's been designed to be as homely as possible. It's been recently redecorated with the input of our staff team and even features a massive trampoline in the back garden. We're only a short walk from the beach, Toby Carvery, and the best pie shop in the area.
We've a full residential care team currently being trained and we're looking for a Deputy Manager and a Team Leader to join us as we prepare to reopen at the end of March.
The Role: What you'll be doing
As the Deputy Manager, you'll act as a vital role model for our residential care staff and children. You'll contribute to a positive safeguarding culture and work closely with the Registered Manager, deputising where necessary to ensure continuity of leadership.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Leading with Heart: Supporting the residential care team to ensure the highest standards of care're consistently maintained.
Operational Management: Managing daily operations, including staff rotas and team coordination.
Child-Centred Care: Developing individualised care plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
Team Development: Supporting staff through training and supervision, while helping the Registered Manager with recruitment and onboarding.
Compliance: Ensuring the residential home remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards.
Due to the nature of the role, you'll need to be flexible, covering regular sleeping nights and participating in an on-call rota to support the care team during emergencies.
Your Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
Who you are: You're energetic, fun, and bring a high level of integrity to everything you do. You're someone who genuinely likes a challenge and is passionate about developing others.
Approach: Youve a proven ability to set firm and fair boundaries, creating a safe and structured environment for our young people.
Background: Experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Team Leader within a residential childrens care setting, with a deep knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards.
Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Life Experience: We value lived experiences. If you have a personal understanding of the challenges our young people face, your insight will be incredibly powerful here.
Logistics: A full UK Driving Licence and flexibility to work the 2 on, 4 off shift pattern.
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or a willingness to work towards this).
Your Package and Perks
Salary : Up to £38,500 per annum, based on experience.
Well-being: Employee Assistance Programme with access to a confidential helpline and therapy.
Discounts : Wide range of retail, leisure, travel, and food discounts.
Progression : With our second residential home opening soon, there'll be genuine opportunities for promotion into Registered Manager roles.
Culture : A supportive, collaborative, and rewarding residential care environment.
Our Interview Process
We want to make our residential care recruitment process as welcoming as possible:
1. Apply: Submit your CV for review.
2. Screening: An initial call with the Registered Manager.
3. Interview: A face-to-face meeting with the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager.
4. Offer: A conditional hiring decision, subject to DBS and reference checks.
How to Apply
If you're a dedicated professional with a passion for leading residential care teams, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV detailing your experience to show us why you're the right fit for Adored Care.
Adored Care's an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to creating an inclusive residential care environment and safeguarding the welfare of children; all appointments are subject to safer recruitment processes.
