What Youll Need
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism and PBS needs.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a care and support setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and person-centred care.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent); Level 5 desirable.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken & written) and ability to produce written reports
- Previous experience working within a PBS framework would be an advantage
- Experience in assisting with managing and assessing new people to support
- A valid manual UK driving licence
- The legal right to live and work in the UK
- Statutory guidance & CQC regulations exposure
- Adeep understanding of regulatory standards for supported living
- Up to date knowledge of Health and safety legislation
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the service and ensuring compliance with CQC standards.
- Lead, motivate, and manage support workers, including supervision, training, and performance reviews.
- Ensure care plans are person-centred and regularly reviewed.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for the people we support.
- Respond to incidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies.
Who Youll Be Supporting
Oxfordshire Support Service Banburyprovides supported living services for 6 young males who have learning disabilities and autism.We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts between 07:00am - 22:00pm, nights, alternative weekends and Bank Holidays.
Who will you be supporting?
John*Has his own mobility car and enjoys getting out as much as possible. He attends the theatre regularly and enjoys concerts, music, and dancing. He is fluent in Italian and English and enjoys a good party.
Jack*is one of cheekiest people we support. He has a great sense of humour and a cheeky laugh to go with it and can be very affectionate asking for head massages and scratches, he loves sensory interaction.
James*Likes to refer to his bungalow as his NBC studio, he is the chief presenter, and some staff have their roles as writers and news readers. He enjoys ordering take away and going on holidays with our colleagues!
Jake*Is a very independent person who leads a busy lifestyle. He is very spiritual and enjoys regular sessions of Pilates and Yoga. He is a very sociable individual and is often making plans with his neighbours and planning events with staff.
Jeffery*loves being out and about and goes out almost every day. He has regular activity days where he enjoys going to the cinema, swimming, and on the odd occasion trampolining.He enjoys music, having a good boogie! He loveseating out and having stories read to him.
Joseph*is a very quiet individual who always likes peace and quiet. He spends his days in his room watching the birds in his garden. He lives a very simple, tranquil life.
