Derivatives Associate (4-6 PQE)

We are working with a leading international law firm to recruit a mid-level associate (4–6 PQE) into its Derivatives & Structured Products team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded practice advising on complex, cross-border transactions at the forefront of financial markets.

The London team advises investment banks, financial institutions, asset managers and corporates on a broad range of derivatives and structured products matters across multiple asset classes.

The work includes:

  • ISDA Master Agreements and related collateral and netting documentation
  • Prime brokerage, securities lending and repo arrangements
  • Structured notes and repackaging programmes
  • Credit, equity and rates derivatives
  • Regulatory aspects of derivatives trading, including EMIR and SFTR
  • Hybrid capital and ESG-linked structures

As a mid-level associate, you will take a more active role in transaction execution, lead on documentation and negotiations, and coordinate multi-jurisdictional input from international offices. You will also have increased client exposure and responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior team members.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a 4–6 PQE associate with experience in derivatives, structured products or broader financial markets work gained at a leading international or City firm.

You should have:

  • A strong working knowledge of ISDA documentation and trading agreements
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience working on cross-border transactions
  • A good understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting derivatives
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to take ownership of matters

Salary & Package

£170k-£215k + bonus and benefits, depending on experience
