Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer \nLocation: Exeter\n Contract Type: Full time, Permanent\n Salary: £40,000 to £50,000\n\n About the Role \n\nA growing engineering design team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for water sector projects across the South. Hybrid working is available.\n\n You will report to the Regional Discipline Lead and provide high quality mechanical design services for turnkey and engineering contracts. This includes coordinating design activity, producing technical documents and ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory and specification requirements.\n \nKey Responsibilities \nProduce mechanical design layouts that are economical, buildable and compliant.
\nPrepare design documents, reports and drawings. \nEnsure design work is fully coordinated with all internal and external disciplines. \nProvide estimates and technical input to support proposals.
\nFollow established procedures and support departmental process improvement. \nReview and monitor design processes and assist with updating procedures. \nSupport a customer focused environment across internal and external interactions.
\nEnsure designs account for environmental considerations. \nEnsure all designs fully address health and safety requirements. About You\n \nUnderstanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
\nRelevant degree or HND qualification \nAbility to rationalise designs and develop efficient plant layouts. \nAbility to present technical proposals clearly and confidently. \nStrong analytical and organisational capability with the ability to manage varied inputs.
\nGood computer literacy.
