Job Description

To design and propose industrial refrigeration systems for food manufacturing facilities and logistics cold storage centres. Detailing costs and designs to customers while meeting legislative and customer-specific requirements. To create comprehensive designs from initial briefs and/or drawings, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.\nProduce detailed design work, consisting of but not limited to: cold room and facility heat load calculations, equipment selections, pumped circulation system design, P&ID development and approvals, concept design presentations, sales stage design applications, engineering specification sheets, pipework isometric drawings, and pipe sizing for ammonia refrigeration systems.\nThis is a remote working role, but attendance at the Leicester office will be required as will site visits, surveys, and client presentations.\nMain Responsibilities\n•\nCarry out site surveys where required\n•\nGenerate and update enquiry bank\n•\nAttend customer scoping and design meetings where required\n•\nProduce initial outline design/scope\n•\nProduce Design File (electronic or hard copy) in line with ISO 9001 standard\n•\nProduce detailed design post sales stage and convert into live project for delivery team\n•\nConduct heat load calculations, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizing\n•\nProduce supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for quotations\n•\nProduce data for Design of Contracts project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing with support of delivery team\n•\nRaise Contract Approval Form to enable project to be booked on system\n•\nMark up drawings and issue to CAD department to produce\n•\nAttend site at least once during project installation period, to carry out design review\n•\nAssist PM during delivery phase for design queries\n•\nMaintain excellent service levels at all times, ensuring a “first Class” service to all customers\n•\nTake on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion\nFinancial\n•\nProduce estimates in line with customer budgets and to agreed company margins\n•\nProduce formal scope of works and formal quotations\n•\nAssist CM with project variation design and costs\n•\nAll contracts over £500k to have contract/design review with senior member of staff\n•\nTo identify means of generating extra revenue through new initiatives (forward thinking)
