Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with expertise in CAD and SolidWorks, specifically for manufacturing applications. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about transforming concepts into practical and efficient designs, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment using CAD and SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualise and execute designs that meet engineering and manufacturing requirements.
• Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure that the designed components are manufacturable and align with cost and production specifications.
• Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes to ensure the integrity and efficacy of the design.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD and SolidWorks software.
• Strong understanding of core concepts including mechanics, materials science etc.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot potential errors.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
