Job Description

Our client, a leading UK contractor delivering some of the UK’s major construction projects, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to play a key role on London projects across sectors including commercial, offices and science buildings. Typical values schemes are £20m to £50m\n\nWorking with a highly respected company, you will be responsible for managing the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring coordination across consultants and stakeholders while maintaining programme, quality, and compliance requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Manage and coordinate the design process across multiple project stages\n\n * Lead design meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams\n\n * Review and manage design documentation to ensure buildability, compliance, and cost efficiency\n\n * Identify and mitigate design risks throughout the project lifecycle\n\n * Ensure designs meet programme requirements and regulatory standards\n\n * Support pre-construction activities including tender reviews and value engineering\n\n * Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure seamless delivery on site\n\nRequirements\n\n * Proven experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor\n\n * Strong experience delivering large-scale construction projects in the UK\n\n * Excellent understanding of construction design processes and coordination\n\n * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and consultant teams\n\n * Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills\n\n * Relevant construction or engineering qualification \n\nApply today or contact us for a confidential discussion
