Job Description

A well-established construction specialist is seeking a Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex structural and industrial construction projects. This role would suit a Design Manager with experience across industrial or specialist fit-out projects, who is comfortable managing multidisciplinary teams from post-tender through to completion. \n\n The successful candidate will take ownership of the design process, ensuring coordination, compliance, and buildability across all stages of delivery. \n\n What’s on Offer:\n\nUp to £70,000 per annum\nHybrid working – 2 days per week in the office\nOpportunity to work across a variety of complex construction and industrial projects\nSupportive environment with training and long-term development\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n Project & Design Management\n\nLead the process from post-tender through to project completion\nCoordinate architects, engineers, and specialist subcontractors\nManage programmes, technical queries, and change control\nIdentify, manage, and mitigate design and construction-related risks\nTeam & Stakeholder Coordination\n\nCommunicate intent clearly to internal and external teams\nEnsure alignment between development and site delivery\nAct as the central point of contact\nQuality & Compliance\n\nEnsure compliance with specifications, regulations, and industry standards\nCarry out reviews and technical audits\nUndertake site visits to ensure works align with approved designs\nClient Engagement\n\nLiaise with clients to understand requirements and project constraints\nProvide practical, buildable solutions\nSupport the project team in managing client expectations\nAbout You:\n\nBackground in construction, industrial build architecture, structural engineering, or industrial fit-out\nExperience as a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, or similar role\nExperience in industrial or large-scale fit-out environments is highly desirable\nWorking knowledge of BIM and design coordination processes\nOrganised, proactive, and confident coordinating multiple stakeholders\nThis role is ideal for a Design Manager looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional sectors, or for someone from an industrial or fit-out background seeking a more technically driven management position.\n\nCandidate Source Ltd is an advertising agency.
