Job Description Were looking for an experienced Design Manager (Mechanical) to lead a talented engineering team in a dynamic manufacturing environment based in Derby! Were seeking candidates with experience managing mechanical design teams in machinery manufacturing, capital equipment, automation, or special-purpose machinery. This is a leadership role where youll oversee design operations, guide the development of innovative machinery, and drive engineering excellence. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position! What youll be doing Lead and manage the mechanical design team, planning workloads and ensuring deadlines are met Develop and communicate design strategy for new and existing machinery Mentor and motivate engineers, supporting professional development and appraisals Oversee CAD systems and design documentation (SolidWorks, PDM, BOMs) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to agree machine specifications Provide mechanical engineering expertise from concept to commissioning
