Company A leading tier 1 building main contractor, operating on a regional basis. This employer is a very stable company on lots of long‑term public sector frameworks, a great place for job security and long‑term local work. Previous experience on public sector projects (Education, Health etc) would be ideal but not essential. Role

Responsible for the management of design‑related issues across multiple sectors on both pre‑construction and the construction stages of individual projects. Appoint and manage consultants, monitor the production of detailed design and manage the design appraisal review process for projects in delivery. Identify design solutions, manage design risk and opportunities to support the business in delivering the existing pipeline and securing new work. Oversee all design activities in conjunction with the development team and transition to the delivery teams. Manage all aspects of consultants and specialist sub‑contractor activities, working with commercial teams to negotiate their appointments.

Requirements

Knowledge of the Building Sector. Previous employment as a Design Co‑ordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager or Design Manager. Experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare. Previous Main Contractor employment. High level of communication skills. Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
