Location: Leeds Randstad is seeking a driven and experienced Design Manager or Assistant Design Manager to work on high rise flats and residential properties in Leeds. Work is for a leading UK construction and property services company, committed to creating sustainable and connected communities.
The Role
You'll be a vital part of our project delivery team, overseeing all design and technical aspects from conception to completion. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Design Coordination: Managing the design process, ensuring all designs are fully coordinated, technically compliant, and align with project briefs and budget constraints.
Stakeholder Management: Acting as the main point of contact for design-related matters, liaising with internal teams, external consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
Document Control: Managing the flow of design information and technical documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Problem-Solving: Proactively identifying and resolving potential design risks and issues to maintain project momentum.
Compliance: Ensuring all designs meet relevant regulations, standards, and health and safety requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a professional with a proven track record in a similar role within the construction industry. You should possess:
A relevant qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree) in a design, architectural, or construction-related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years of experience for an Assistant Design Manager role, or significant experience for a Design Manager.
Strong knowledge of relevant building regulations and design processes.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and analytical approach.
The ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Experience with CAD and BIM software is highly desirable.
