We're working with a leading main contractor who is continuing to grow across several key sectors and is now looking to appoint Design Managers at all levels — from Design Manager through to Senior / Principal Design Manager .
With a strong pipeline of work across residential, commercial, and healthcare , this is a brilliant opportunity to join a contractor known for delivering complex, high-quality projects and for investing in their people.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining an established design team and working on projects from pre-construction through to completion, playing a key role in coordinating design, driving buildability, and supporting successful project delivery.
Projects include:
High-quality residential developments

Commercial schemes across multiple sectors

Complex healthcare projects

Key Responsibilities
Depending on level, responsibilities may include:
Managing and coordinating the design process from tender to handover

Leading consultant teams and liaising with internal delivery teams

Reviewing design information for compliance, buildability, and risk

Managing design programmes and ensuring key deadlines are met

Supporting value engineering and procurement activities

Ensuring designs align with employer's requirements and construction strategy

About You
To be considered, you must have:
Proven main contracting experience as a Design Manager (any level)

Experience working on construction projects within resi, commercial, or healthcare

Strong understanding of design management and construction processes

Ability to work collaboratively across design, commercial, and site teams

Desirable (not essential):
Experience working on large or complex schemes

Knowledge of healthcare regulations or residential standards

Professional qualifications or chartership
