Job Description

Join a respected London studio celebrated for material-led design, exceptional craftsmanship and collaborative making.

Position:

An established design and making studio is seeking a Designer Maker or Senior Designer Specialist to join their workshop team in London. This is a hands on role within a growing craft focused environment, working across a wide range of materials, processes and disciplines.

The position involves contributing throughout the full making process, from early fabrication through to fine finishing. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and a solid foundation in both making and design. Collaboration is central to the role, with close daily working alongside artists, designers and fellow makers.

This opportunity offers the chance to deepen multidisciplinary skills, develop high level craftsmanship and be part of a studio that values curiosity, precision and shared creative effort.

This is a full-time studio based position.

Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have hands on workshop experience and confidence working across a range of materials and processes. They will bring strong making skills, including experience with spraying metals, paints and lacquers, resin pouring and casting, metal finishing and polishing, and working with mixed materials such as wood, composites, plaster or stone.

A high level of hand finishing skill is essential, with care and precision across sanding, shaping, blending and detailing. The candidate should be comfortable interpreting drawings, models or prototypes to inform fabrication, and demonstrate a patient, methodical approach with a strong eye for detail.

A collaborative mindset is key, with an openness to learning new techniques and contributing positively within a close knit workshop environment.

Studio:

The studio is recognised internationally for its material led approach and commitment to exceptional craftsmanship. Its work spans design objects, fine art, bespoke interiors, innovative material development and collaborations with leading global brands.

Operating from an integrated workshop and production facility in London, the studio is known for its collaborative culture and exacting standards. The team works at both elemental scale and fine detail, often across metals, resins and complex material combinations.

They welcome individuals who bring distinctive skills, curiosity and care to their work, and who are motivated by long term craft development within a high performing creative environment.
