* Consult with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications, manage interaction between the systems and other technical support areas, and define technical requirements and coordinate team resources to solve problems.* Guide the team to tackle problems at differentiating levels of complexity.* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on complex engineering solutions while fostering a team environment.* Design, develop, analyze, configure by defining technical requirements, test, debug, troubleshoot, document, health monitor/alert, and implement software based on user or system specifications.* Collaborate with a robust team of engineers to sharpen your skills, learn various emerging technologies while working on key business initiatives.* Research and apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions for software engineering problems.* Perform other duties as assigned.* Considerable programming/development experience.Ideally have experience with Hyperexponential's **hx Renew**, or similar Insurance Pricing and Underwriting Platforms.* ### JAVA:* Programming/development experience focused on Java and Angular with working knowledge of WebServices (SOAP, REST), Git/GitHub/GitLab, and Agile.* ### .NET:* Programming/development experience focused on .NET and/or .NET core concepts and design patterns with working knowledge of:* web service technologies such as REST, or JSON; automated unit, UI, and End-to-End tests such as NUnit, Mocha, Jasmine, Jest or Selenium; and DevOps, CI/CD, and configuration management tools.* ### JavaScript:* Programming/development experience focused on JavaScript concepts and design patterns with working knowledge of JavaScript development frameworks such as React, Angular, Express, or Node.js; design and development of web service technologies such as REST, or JSON; writing automated unit, UI, and End-to-End tests such as NUnit, Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, or Selenium; and DevOps, CI/CD, and configuration management tools.* The ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace to achieve commitments, deliver complete solutions but release them in small batches, and identify and negotiate important tradeoffs.* Demonstrated track record of domain expertise including the ability to understand technical concepts and industry trends, and possess in-depth knowledge of immediate systems worked on and some knowledge of adjacent systems.* Strong problem solver who ensures systems are built with longevity and creates innovative ways to resolve issues.* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate well with team members and business partners.* Ability to lead team members and help create a safe environment for others to learn and grow as engineers.* Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.* Strong programming/development experience.## **Employment Practices**Travelers is an equal opportunity employer.
