As HSH Group (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels) embarks on our transformation journey, we are seeking a senior architectural leader to provide architectural direction across our portfolio of luxury hotels and development projects. This influential role is to guide architectural design from early feasibility and planning stages through to delivery, ensuring design excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and long‑term asset value across new developments, major renovations, and CAPEX programmes.

This senior role will shape the architectural quality, integrity, and long‑term value of our assets, working closely with internal stakeholders and leading international consultants to deliver projects that uphold The Peninsula’s legacy while responding to contemporary operational, sustainability, and guest experience expectations.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide overall architectural design leadership for new hotel developments, major refurbishments, repositioning works, and significant capital projects across HSH’s global portfolio.
• Act as the owner’s architectural representative, setting design direction, reviewing proposals, and ensuring alignment with brand standards, functional requirements, budget, and programme.
• Lead the selection, briefing, and management of external architects and specialist consultants, ensuring design excellence, accountability, and consistency of outcomes.
• Oversee architectural design from concept through schematic, detailed design, and construction, ensuring smooth coordination with interior design, engineering, operations, and asset management teams.
• Ensure designs respond to operational efficiency, sustainability objectives, regulatory requirements, and long‑term asset value, without compromising architectural quality.
• Review and approve key design deliverables, drawings, specifications, and material submissions at all project stages.
• Collaborate closely with development, project management, procurement, and hotel operations teams to support informed decision‑making and timely delivery.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging design practices, and technological advancements relevant to luxury hospitality and mixed‑use developments.

General Requirements

• Degree qualified in Architecture; professional registration (highly desirable).
• Substantial experience in architectural leadership roles, with a strong track record in luxury hospitality, mixed‑use, or high‑end commercial developments.
• Demonstrated experience working within a hotel design consultancy or operating group, guiding client‑representative, or design management capacity, managing multiple consultants and complex stakeholders.
• Strong design judgement with the ability to balance creative excellence, commercial discipline, and operational practicality.
• Proven capability to work across international projects and multicultural teams, with sensitivity to local contexts and regulations.
• Exceptional English communication and presentation skills
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating at both strategic and hands‑on levels, and being hands on with technical software
