The Opportunity

A leading UK property consultancy is seeking a Director – Building Surveying to join its established Birmingham office.

This is a senior Director level appointment, but not a Head of role. The successful individual will operate as a key fee earner and client lead within the team, supporting continued growth across the Midlands market.

The role offers a strong blend of professional and project led work, alongside the opportunity to contribute to business development and wider office growth without full departmental leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Instruction Leadership

• Lead and deliver complex Building Surveying instructions
• Act as primary client contact on key accounts
• Maintain and grow strong relationships with landlords, investors, developers and occupiers
• Ensure technical excellence and commercial delivery across all instructions

Professional & Project Work

• Technical Due Diligence
• Dilapidations acting for landlord and tenant
• Contract administration and project management
• Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules
• Defect diagnosis and building pathology
• Reinstatement Cost Assessments
• General professional advisory instructions

Business Development

• Support fee growth across the Midlands region
• Generate new instructions through existing relationships and personal network
• Work collaboratively with agency, investment and asset management teams to maximise cross selling

Candidate Profile

• MRICS qualified
• Currently operating at Associate Director or Director level within a consultancy environment
• Strong technical Building Surveying capability across both professional and project work
• Demonstrable fee generation and client development track record
• Commercially minded with a collaborative approach
• Existing Midlands network advantageous

Package

• Basic salary up to £100,000
• Car allowance
• Performance related bonus
