The BBC is undergoing a major transformation to become a digital-first media organisation that is fit for the future.
We’re rethinking how we work across the BBC (structure, technology, people, and processes) to improve efficiency, effectiveness and both employee & audience experience. We are seeking an outstanding Head of Transformation to support this journey. Play a leading role in our Transformation team, which is part of the Group Strategy and Transformation Division.
Oversee the BBC’s transformation and project portfolio.
Provide data, reporting, and insights to senior decision-makers and governance bodies.
Support leadership and capability development in project and change management.
Shape and communicate a clear transformation narrative across the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Transformation, this role works collaboratively across the BBC.
The Transformation Team drives all critical projects and corporate-level change across the BBC. As Head of Transformation, you will:
Manage the transformation roadmap and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
Engage senior stakeholders and manage complex issues with strong relationship-building.
Support project teams to deliver value and build new capabilities.
Provide transparent, data-driven reporting to senior leadership and governance boards.
Lead and develop the BBC’s project and change management profession.
Oversee portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, and governance, reporting to key committees including the Executive Committee and Board.
We’re looking for a proven transformation leader with deep expertise in project, programme, portfolio, and change management in complex, fast-paced environments.
Previous “Head of” or “Director” level experience leading enterprise-wide transformation with measurable outcomes.
Advanced practitioner qualifications in both project and change management (e.g. Track record of building and delivering enterprise change capability.
Experience in media (broadcast/digital) and/or public sector environments with senior stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated thought leadership and experience in developing and deploying enterprise-wide project management frameworks.
Strong leadership, budget management and team leader credentials.
Experience shaping strategic business transformation and delivering integrated plans.
Skilled in delivering both design and implementation phases of strategic projects.
