About the Role
The firm is seeking a commercially driven leader to establish and grow its Building Surveying service line in Manchester. This is a strategic hire with a strong emphasis on business creation, market positioning, and team leadership rather than purely technical delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building a new service offering, developing a client base, and leading a growing team, playing a pivotal role in the firms regional expansion.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Growth & Leadership
- Lead the establishment and strategic growth of a new Building Surveying service line in Manchester
- Develop and execute a clear business plan to drive revenue and market presence
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team as the service line expands
- Create a strong team culture focused on collaboration, performance, and growth
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across key sectors
- Demonstrate a strong ability to win new business and generate sustainable revenue
- Build and maintain senior client relationships
- Position the firm as a leading provider of building surveying services in the region
- Oversee delivery of projects, ensuring quality and client satisfaction
- Provide strategic advice to clients across a range of property matters
- Collaborate with other service lines to drive cross-selling opportunities
- Drive financial performance of the service line, including budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth and differentiation
- Contribute to the wider regional and national business strategy
Key Requirements
- Proven ability to strategically grow a new service line or business unit
- Strong commercial mindset with a passion for business development and leadership
- Demonstrable success in winning new business and building client relationships
- Experience leading and scaling teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial approach with the drive to build something from the ground up
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Background in building surveying or a related property discipline (MRICS not essential) xbpsjku
- Established network within the Manchester and wider North West property market
- Experience working within a consultancy environment
- Track record of growing revenue and market share
