Overview

We are seeking a London-based Director to lead fundraising across the UK and Continental Europe for a multi-strategy private markets platform. The role is focused on capital raising from institutional LPs, including pension funds, endowments, insurance platforms and select family offices.


The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the European LP landscape, deep familiarity with private markets strategies, and a track record of raising capital across multiple fund structures. This individual will operate at senior relationship level, managing complex sales cycles across primaries, co-investments and secondaries vehicles, as well as real estate and private credit strategies.


Role Context

This is a senior distribution hire within a multi-strategy private markets platform. The role requires both origination capability and relationship depth across institutional Europe. The Director will work closely with investment teams, product specialists and senior leadership to drive sustained capital formation across the platform.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fundraising efforts across the UK and Europe for private equity
  • Originate and manage relationships with institutional LPs, including pension schemes, endowments, insurers and family offices
  • Drive full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through due diligence, IC approval and close
  • Maintain and develop strategic coverage plans across priority LP accounts
  • Coordinate cross-border fundraising initiatives across European jurisdictions
  • Act as senior point of contact for existing and prospective LPs
  • Navigate complex allocator structures, including consultants, gatekeepers and internal investment committees
  • Support re-ups and cross-sell across strategies within the broader product suite
  • Provide structured feedback from LPs to investment and product teams
  • Articulate differentiated positioning across AFL fund structures and multi-strategy offerings
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of fund structuring, liquidity profiles, fee models and governance considerations
  • Monitor European LP allocation trends across private equity, real assets and private credit
  • Contribute to fundraising strategy, pipeline forecasting and market mapping


Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in private markets fundraising, placement, or institutional sales
  • Proven track record raising capital from UK and Continental European institutional LPs
  • Experience across private equity vehicles required
  • Broader exposure to real estate, infrastructure and private credit strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with AFL or similar evergreen / semi-liquid fund structures advantageous
  • Deep understanding of private markets portfolio construction and allocator frameworks
  • Strong grasp of European regulatory and structuring considerations
  • Ability to navigate multi-asset product platforms and position differentiated value propositions
  • Commercially driven with disciplined pipeline management
  • Structured communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Comfortable operating in a multi-strategy, cross-functional environment
