The Office of Government Property (OGP) is a unit in the Cabinet Office that leads the Government Property Function, supporting central government and the wider public sector in managing their estate more efficiently and effectively. OGP is central to supporting key government priorities such as the levelling up of the regions and nations of the UK, responding to the challenges of climate change and the UK’s net zero target, and ensuring we have a property workforce with the right skills and expertise while also reflecting the communities we serve. Both the OGP and the Government Property Function are led by Mark Chivers, Director General, Government Property and Government Chief Property Officer. The Director, Property Delivery, Capability and Standards will set the strategic vision for the government estate across departments, agencies and arms‑length bodies, making sure we have the right capability to deliver on that vision, leading on the delivery of cross‑cutting property programmes. The role will deliver the Government Property Strategy, including efficiency through disposals, sustainability, FM and cross‑sector programmes such as One Public Estate. Forming strong working relationships with departments, property delivery organisations and other partners overseeing government property policy, the Director will drive the delivery of strategy, lead the data capability across the function and ensure value for money. They will also engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, such as professional institutions and industry bodies to ensure the Civil Service is actively involved in wider profession matters. As the head of the profession, the Director will increase the profile, visibility and awareness of the profession and build a more diverse organisation. Responsibilities and Qualifications The successful candidate will hold a professional property qualification and membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, RIBA, CIOB, etc. They will bring experience of leading property operations across the property lifecycle (transactions, projects, FM operations) and have built the capacity and capability within a workforce, professionalising it through strategy and empowerment of staff. The ability to develop, lead and manage a strategic agenda, delivering change programmes in a complex property environment will be central to the role. They will need to demonstrate the ability to develop policy and plans, implementing them through delivery. With a proven track record of securing the confidence of senior stakeholders within and outside the organisation, they will be a credible operator with the ability to secure buy‑in to a vision. #J-18808-Ljbffr
