Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general cleaning duties throughout the care home, including residents' rooms and all communal areas. Ensure residents' rooms are cleaned to the required standards and are prepared for new arrivals as directed by senior staff. Conduct regular deep cleaning of rooms and shared areas, including safely moving furniture and personal belongings in line with cleaning schedules. Complete thorough cleaning of designated flatlets as required and instructed by the Business Manager or senior team members. Clean communal areas and specified sections of the day centre in accordance with established cleaning routines. Report any faulty or defective equipment promptly to the Business Manager, Care Manager, or a senior team member. Follow all Health & Safety regulations, Infection Control protocols, and COSHH guidelines, as well as the organisation's internal policies and procedures. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cleaning best practices and participate in training as required. Accurately complete and maintain cleaning records as instructed. Always respect and uphold the privacy, dignity, and independence of all residents and tenants. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and personal supervision reviews. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Business Manager, Care Manager, or senior team.
What We're Looking For: Previous experience in a cleaning or domestic role (professional or personal) Experience working in environments where cleanliness and hygiene are a priority Basic understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH, and Infection Control regulations Friendly, approachable, and respectful toward residents and colleagues Willingness to learn and undertake necessary training Compassionate and sensitive to the needs of older people and those with care needs Flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the service Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
