Our client is seeking to recruit a drivers mate to join their growing team of home installation experts. Working directly for the client, you will be responsible for installing sofas / beds / tables in customers homes. You will be key part of the 2-man delivery team and will be required to assist the driver with all tasks.

There will be the requirement to complete 2 man deliveries of furniture and other items as well as collecting items throughout the country.

The successful candidate(s) will be required to complete long distance routes which are planned over 2 days. An overnight stay will be required with accommodation and meal allowance being provided.

Due to the nature of the job and the long-distance travel involved, the working day typically starts at 5:30am. However, it may be necessary to leave the local depot from 2am on rare occasions.

The key duties for this role are:

• Assisting the driver with loading / unloading the van
• Calling customers and arranging the delivery when on the road.
• Handling customer calls when on the road
• Completing installations in a professional and friendly manner
• Handling heavy items with care to prevent damage to the products and customers property
• Helping to remove all waste and assisting the driver with preparation prior to departing for the next delivery
• Keeping the loadspace of the van tidy and clear of obstacles
• Offering any assistance the driver may require throughout the journey

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:

• A flexible approach to work there is often traffic and delays that are beyond control of the client
• The ability to handle large, heavy and often fragile items
• A professional and friendly manner when dealing with customer and business owners
• Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial

As you will be required to enter the homes of customers, a basic DBS check will be required. This will be provided at your own cost.
