About The Role
Are you someone who thrives outdoors, enjoys practical work, and wants to play a part in protecting the environment? Whether you're into hiking, wild swimming, bikepacking, or just being out in nature—this role offers the chance to turn your love for the outdoors into something impactful.
We’re looking for several Drought Fieldworkers to join our Water Quality team on a fixed-term basis for between 3 and 6 months. You’ll be part of a network of field workers visiting rivers and streams across the South of England (Kent across to Wiltshire) to monitor low flow conditions and water quality during drought periods. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who’s methodical, dependable, and comfortable working with limited supervision once trained.
You'll carry out simple on-site tests, collect water samples, and help maintain high-quality data for national monitoring programmes. It’s hands-on, physical work sometimes in remote locations and all weathers, but you’ll be supported by a friendly and experienced team.
This would suit a recent graduate early in their career looking to gain experience in aquatic ecology or environmental science. We’re equally keen to hear from people with relevant outdoor or practical experience, regardless of qualifications, looking for work in this interesting area.
